Teens, Nicotine and Tobacco Survey Interviews (April-May 2024)

We are inviting teens (12-17 years) and young adults (18-20 years), who live in California, to participate in a study about nicotine, cannabis and tobacco. The purpose of this portion of the study is to conduct individual interviews with young people to see if a survey called the Teens, Nicotine, and Tobacco Survey, which is about tobacco and other related products, is clear and easy to understand among adolescent and young adult participants. The information we learn from these interviews will help us improve the survey that will then be answered by thousands of young people in the state of California.

What can you expect if you or your child participates?

  1. Participating teens and young adults will meet with a researcher from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) via video conference (Zoom) for an hour and review some survey questions together.
  2. Participants DO NOT need to use tobacco, cannabis, or nicotine products to participate.
  3. Participants will receive a $100 e-gift code (to several major online retailors) as a thank you for their time.

Participation in this study is completely confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of our research team.
